about

Released in 1999, Drill For Absentee's "Circle Music" EP was the band's most substantial release before its breakup in early 2000.

Four of the songs were recorded at WGNS Studios in Washington, DC with Geoff Turner, the singer/guitarist of Grey Matter and well-known DC sound engineer who recorded many of DFA's influences and contemporaries. The last song, "Process Music For Numbers Ascending From Five," was recorded by Gilroys drummer Matt Magarahan in the abandoned ground floor of a house that he lived in. All 5 tracks were recorded throughout 1998.
